Enhancements 1.1

Some updates on life, building upon the content of the previous posts and developing new information for this blog:

1) I’ve decided to discontinue tracking my screen time, effective September 2026. I have incomplete data sets between May and September 2026; however, I find that the data from January to May was sufficient to justify my decision.

The original purpose of this activity was to de-incentivise me from using my phone by realizing how substantial the amount of screen time taking up my days and months was. I find that pre-2025, I was spending nearly all day using technology in some way, shape, or form.
In 2025, my average phone time per day was 2 Hours, 34 Minutes, 11 Seconds. From January to May 2026, that value was 2 Hours, 36 Minutes, 53 Seconds.
Daily computer time in 2025 averaged 3 Hours, 19 Minutes, 38 Seconds, while 2026 data showed 4 Hours, 16 Minutes, 42 Seconds.
However, using the sum of total combined hours and minutes per month (for both phone and computer), divided by twenty-four hours, I have effectively calculated the total number of days spent per month in front of a screen. (If “days” can be measured as a value of time, and not taken in a literal, nonstop sense).
In 2025, I spent an average of 7.46 total days per month in front of a screen.
In 2026, I spent an average of 6.80 total days per month in front of a screen.
Throughout this study, I’ve found that I feel much more in control of my urges to unnecessarily interact with my phone and computer, compared to that of my urges pre-2025.

2) As of August, 2026, I’ve begun my pursuit of a degree as a Master of Science in Strategic Game Design and Applied Development.

Largely, the courses I have been taking this current Fall semester are developing the following skill sets:
Video Game Preservation, and Emulation
Video Game Research, specifically for Conceptual Proposal Documents, and Player Surveys
Team Video Game Development, for a 2D Flash Game in Unity, for Itch.io
Independent Video Game Development, for a 3D Indie Game in Unreal Engine 5.8, for Steam

The Master’s program for this degree, if taken full time, is a three-semester timeline in which I’ll be on track to graduate by the end of 2027.

That’s all for this post, just a short update.
Until next time…
